I’ve been trying to do homework all day. I’m not gonna lie….it’s been slow going as I’ve been easily distracted today. The degree of distractability seems to be in direct correlation to my interest in actually doing the homework. (I should get Buck to graphjam that for me. Seeing the data would make me giddy….hmmm….and more than likely distract me further.)
We all know my penchant for making lists. Doing it just makes me happy. It’s like the lowest level of data organization available. Data AND organization!! OMG!! Two of my favorite things! What an amazing little sentence I’ve just constructed! I’m actually giggly just typing it. What a freakin awesome combination in such a simple form! Almost as fun as Creme AND Brulee!! Dear lord….you’d think I just cured cancer I’m so giddy. It’s entirely possible that I’ve been looking at this book too long. I’m bordering on irrationally exciteable at this point! At least without the insertion of any kind of alcoholic influence…
Anyway….as to not possibly frighten people any further, I’ll reign my excitement in a little and get to the point. I’m going to make two lists (giggle giggle giggle). One will be the things that have already, and all too easily, pulled me away from my homework today. The second list will be things I’d really rather be doing on an amazingly cold, rainy, blustery, snow-on-the-mountains, wintery Sunday.
Why?? ‘Cause it allows me the opportunity to make lists. Were some of you under the impression this blog was here for some purpose other than to make ME happy?? New here much?
Things that pulled me away from my homework today:
1) Cleaning the kitchen (I really do love to do this. Buck says I’m part Monica Gellar)
2) Dishes
3) Laundry
4) Taking a nap with Buck (this was not long enough in my opinion)
5) Straightening the coffee table (it doesn’t look it, but trust me – time was spent)
6) Loving on the dogs
7) Made cookies (I had bought some of those precut/formed Christmas sugar cookies with the Christmas trees in the middle…just in case some kind of quick emergency came up during the holidays and the 4 hours of cookie baking I did wasn’t sufficient to cover it. No such emergency arose, so today was Christmas tree cookie day.)
Text messaging
9) Staring into space
10) Watching a basketball game that I had no interest in
11) Made lunch with Buck
Things I’d still rather be doing today other than my homework:
1) Killing terrorists ALL DAY LONG
2) Watching our current Netflix (which right now is Beowulf…mmmmm…cartoon Angelina….)
3) Folding the now clean laundry
4) Dusting the house (you KNOW it’s bad when I’d rather be dusting….in the scheme of things I’d like to do, dusting for me comes shortly after getting poked in the eye with a hot…ummm…poker thinger….of some kind)
5) Researching new homes for my blog
6) Posting the things I want to sell on eBay
7) Making dinner (which tonight I’ve decided will be a ziti bake)
Finishing Catcher in the Rye – not because I’m loving it – I don’t, I hate it, but it seems like I’ve been 10 pages from the end for weeks now, and so tired in the evening that every time I pick it up, I get 1 page into it and my eyes are slamming shut
9) Taxes – I hate not having them done by now!
There are still many, many more things I could come up with that I’d rather be doing….but I really should get back to at least staring at the pages of the book. Ugh.
Shoot.
Me.
(ha ha….you all are accomplices….such contributors of degeneracy you are! You should be ashamed!!)
